September 2021

Hello and Happy Fall, Y'all!

Cooler morning temperatures are starting to greet us, welcoming us into Fall. If you’re driving your student athletes to school early in the morning, you know what I mean. Sports are in full swing and our LT teams are achieving amazing results--GO KNIGHTS! Our fine art students will begin hosting concerts, performances, and shows that we’re all hoping to attend; the Halftime Showcase last Wednesday at Cavalier Stadium was amazing to watch!

Your new PTO Board had their first Executive & General Board meeting to start planning all of the activities slated for this school year. In order to fulfill all those events and plan even more, we still need your donations.

We would like to express our sincerest appreciation to those who have joined our PTO. The membership dues along with the donations made as part of our “No Hassle Fundraiser”, and the sales from the LTMS Spirit Store are helping us get closer to our PTO goal of raising $15,000. We have some work to do in reaching our goal, so if you have not yet made a donation as part of the “No Hassle Fundraiser”, or you would like to purchase some of the great-looking apparel from our Spirit Store, it is not too late.

If you have not yet joined our PTO, we would love to have you. Members receive our monthly newsletter, have access to volunteer sign-ups, Membership Toolkit (MTK) notifications through the app, participation in surveys and polls, and access to the student directory (coming in October). If you have any questions about PTO membership or with the MTK platform, please reach out to our Membership Coordinator, Erika Franklin.

Please join us for our next General Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 9:00am. Please note that until campus restrictions are lifted, all PTO Board meetings will be conducted virtually. You can find the Google Meet links for the General Board meeting on our PTO Calendar. New Student Welcome Groups with our LTMS Counselors

Thank you to our Gold Sponsor, Best In Class, for donating pens in our buckets of fun swag that our LTMS Counselors gave out to new students during their Welcome Week September 13~17th. The Counselors were able to have quality time with smaller groups of new students throughout the week. Thank you Sandy Casares & Heather Woehl for making sure our new students get connected and feel welcome at LTMS!

Treasurer's Snapshot

It’s been a busy start to the school year with fundraising events including the No Hassle Fundraiser, Membership Drive, & Spirit Store Sales.

Funds raised benefit our teachers and students by helping fund staff appreciation events, grade level activities, and school wish list items.

We are only about 30% of our goal and WE NEED YOUR HELP to achieve the funds needed to provide the benefits outlined.

Community Partners

Do you own a local business and wish to partner with us to impact the programs and activities provided to our students and teachers? Then join our Community Partner Program. As a valued business sponsor you will be recognized through various benefits depending on the sponsorship level you choose. Sponsorships will be active for a period of one school year and may be renewed on an annual basis. Contact us for information on how to become a sponsor today.

Double Your Donation

Increase the impact of your PTO donation with a matching gift. Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible non-profit organizations like LTMS. A simple and effective way to double a contribution at no additional cost to you. Details here.

Volunteer Grants Make a Difference

Volunteer grants are corporate giving programs in which companies provide monetary donations to non-profit organizations where employees volunteer regularly. If you volunteer at LTMS, it’s an easy way to provide the school with additional financial support at no cost to you. Details here.

Passive Fundraising

Earn money for LTMS every time you shop. This is an easy way to earn money for our school while doing something you already do. Please take a moment to sign up for these programs, which donate a percentage of your purchases back to our school or PTO. The more families that participate, the more we earn. Details here.

Spirit Store

We've Got Spirit, Yes We Do!

Our Spirit Store is open and stocked with shirts, stickers, and other LTMS swag. In addition to our popular LTMS Knight Shield shirts, we will be rolling out a fall selection of hoodies. Please watch for emails in October for style options and details on how to order!

For orders that were placed online, you will receive notification by email when your order is fulfilled and ready for pick up at the school. We are in the process of fulfilling previously placed orders that may contain items that were on backorder. If your order contained shirts that were out of stock, please note that the ETA for those shirts to arrive is mid-October. Once we are able to fulfill your order, you will be notified when it is ready. Thank you!

Join PTO

Whether you are new to the community or if you have been here for some time, your membership in the LTMS PTO provides you with the opportunity to meet other parents, teachers, and to help address the needs of our students at LTMS. Our PTO goal for the 2021-22 school year is to raise $15,000 so that we are able to support the additional student and teacher activities on our budget.

To help us achieve our PTO goal, access our online registration platform, Membership Toolkit (MTK). After you have registered, go to the My Account section to update your family information so that you receive our revitalized PTO newsletter, notifications of volunteer sign-up announcements, participation in surveys, and access to the new student directory. To complete your membership registration, visit the PTO Fundraising page to pay the 2021-22 PTO Membership dues.
