SUBJECT: LTMS PTO Newsletter - April Edition

Message from the PTO President

April, 2022

Happy Spring Parents!

April whizzed by and we find ourselves in the last month of school! Please make sure your kiddo gets plenty of rest and a good breakfast each day to help them during STAAR testing week and to finish the year strong!

There are LOTS of emails coming at you because everyone is so excited that the end of year activities, trips, performances, etc. can happen FINALLY!  Enjoy and pace yourselves! Congratulations to all our students that participated in UIL competitions--we're so proud of each and every one of you!

Our newsletter this month is full of details about end of year events and ways you can support with donations, volunteering, and chaperoning! If you have any questions, please contact the person responsible for each event accordingly and when in doubt, you can always email: info@ltmspto.org!

As we wrap up our year, I want to say thank you to all the PTO Board members that have served this year and will not be joining us next. You have made a difference and huge impact to this team and in supporting the students, parents, faculty at LTMS! We'll miss you!

Check out your new 2022-23 PTO Board members that were voted in at our last General Board meeting! You can find the list on our current LTMS PTO Board website under Our PTO > Officers and Chairs. We can't wait to get started and have a great team again this year. If you're interested in volunteering, please let us know and visit the website for more information.

Also, I'd like to say thank you to our Community Partners for the 2021-22 school year.  Without their support, we would not have been able to support so many events and requests. We hope you'll sponsor LTMS PTO next year and for years to come! We truly appreciate your support and being a part of this community!

Thank you for your support!

Freda Collier

The 6th Grade Olympic Day event is scheduled for May 20th and we are so excited to have this tradition back for 6th graders at LTMS!  The 6th grade team has planned a day filled with team competitions and field day events. The PTO is sponsoring this event, however we need volunteers. In the coming week, we will send out a volunteer sign-up sheet through Sign Up Genius. Some of the areas where we will need volunteers are for concessions, help in monitoring the lines at the Kona Ice truck, and to help out at the trivia station.

The PTO will provide one bottle of water and one trip to the Kona Ice truck per student. For those students who are interested in purchasing candy (peanut/tree nut free), chips, or non-caffeinated drinks, that option is also available. All of the items at the concession stand are set at $1.00 each, so please be sure to send your student with small bills. If you have any questions or if you would like to volunteer, contact your 6th Grade Reps, Amy Chauvin and Danielle Elliott at 6thgrade@ltmspto.org.

7th Grade May Day is Tuesday May 24

The seventh-grade class will celebrate a year of hard work with a full day of entertainment on Tuesday, May 24th. Teacher Appreciation Week Celebration at LTMS

LTMS teachers and staff celebrated Teacher Appreciation this past week. We are so grateful for everything they do for our students and we surely hope they felt spoiled! Thank you to Candice DeShazo from Sign Gypsies Lakeway for donating the fabulous sign. It was the first thing teachers saw when they arrived on campus Monday morning.

If you have a special occasion to celebrate, such as a birthday, graduation, anniversary, or anything in between, be sure to contact Sign Gypsies Lakeway. With their wide variety of greeting and announcement arrangements, Sign Gypsies Lakeway can help you recognize those important milestones and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Principal's Cookout VIDEO
Farewell to Mr. Wolff

Last Friday, April 29th, during his last Principal's Cookout, Mr. Wolff was surprised with gifts from our PTO. One gift is a set of framed photos with students and staff.

Parents, students, and faculty are invited to stop into school office and sign the matte frames so that Mr. Wolff can take these mementos with him as he and his wife, Jenny, move to Iowa. They will remain available until the last week of school.

Please see Nancy Ingram at front desk for access to sign frames!

Treasurer's Snapshot

Thank you to P. Terry’s for hosting our last Spirit Night and for all the LTMS families that participated. We earned $302 from the night's proceeds. We are so grateful for your support and partnership!

As we head into the end of the school year, I want to highlight how 100% of the funds raised by the PTO are invested right back into our students and staff. Thanks to the generous donations and support of our community of LTMS families, here are some of the ways our school has benefitted:

Every time you support a PTO fundraiser, you are donating back to our students and staff to ensure we can continue to provide quality programs!

As a valued business sponsor you will be recognized through various benefits depending on the sponsorship level you choose. Sponsorships will be active for a period of one school year and may be renewed on an annual basis. Contact us for information on how to become a sponsor today.

Double Your Donation

Increase the impact of your PTO donation with a matching gift. Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible non-profit organizations like LTMS. A simple and effective way to double a contribution at no additional cost to you. Details here

Volunteer Grants Make a Difference
