SUBJECT: LTMS PTO Newsletter - August 2022

Message from the PTO President

August, 2022

Hello Parents!

We achieved a great milestone getting through the first couple weeks of school, so a big congratulations to everyone is in order. The 2022 Knight Games and Roundup events were a huge success thanks in part to the awesome staff led by our new Principal, Rebecca Hudson, and our terrific PTO volunteers. Walking through the halls a few weeks ago was so great as we connected new families and reconnected with the returning families. Seeing students interacting with each other about their classes, lockers, and lunchtimes was especially welcomed.

As a reminder, Mrs. Hudson's Knight News (S'mores newsletter) are full of valuable information, so be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the newsletter to stay up-to-date. Curriculum Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 1st from 5:30-7:20pm. If you have any questions, please reach out to the school. Our PTO is excited to see you all there, so look for our table.

The PTO will be hosting a Meet and Greet event on the morning of Friday, September 9th at the Hill Country Galleria Plaza (next to the great lawn in front of The League). For complete details, see the Meet and Greet details below.

On behalf of the PTO, I would like to convey our sincerest appreciation to those who have expressed interest in volunteering with our PTO. We will be in touch soon and we can hardly wait to get started. We have a few committee openings available, and we would be incredibly excited to have you join this team of awesome parents that help make the year a success. We can use your help planing and hosting student events, fulfilling valuable campus requests, and organizing teacher appreciation days.

As part of the “No Hassle Fundraiser”, your donations combined with the sales from the LTMS Spirit Store have helped us get closer to reaching. our PTO fundraising goal of $8,000. With your continued support, the funds raised will help cover the cost of activities that we have planned for the entire school year. We've almost reached our goal, so if you have not yet made a donation as part of the “No Hassle Fundraiser”, or if you would like to purchase some of the great-looking apparel from our Spirit Store, it is not too late. The pre-sale on hoodies is open until this Wednesday August 31st, so place your order NOW.  Note: Hoodies orders will be ready for pickup in October.

If you would like to receive our monthly newsletter, have access to volunteer sign-ups, access Membership Toolkit (MTK) notifications through the app, and participate in surveys and polls, we encourage you to join our PTO communications platform by creating Membership Toolkit (MTK) account. If you have any questions about PTO membership or with the MTK tool, please reach out to our Membership Coordinator, Erika Franklin.

In closing, we would like for you to join us for our first General Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 9:00am. We encourage you to bring your ID to school office so that you can get registered into the Raptor system before entering the school. The guests at this month's meeting are LTMS Principal Rebecca Hudson, the LTMS PTO Board, and Lake Travis ISD Superintendent Paul Norton who will be joining us to speak about the upcoming election which includes voting on the LTISD bond measure.

Thank you for your support and best wishes for a great year!

LTMS teachers and staff enjoyed lunch from our PTO with help from Mandola's Italian on Monday, August 15th while they readied their classrooms for students arriving the next day. We hope everyone has a fun and safe school year ahead! GO KNIGHTS!

Treasurer's Snapshot

It’s been a busy start of the school year with fundraising events including the No Hassle Fundraiser, School Supplies, and Spirit Store sales. This year, our No Hassle Fundraiser goal is $8,000.

You can help us achieve this goal, by registering on Membership Toolkit (MTK), logging in and selecting My Account to update your Family Information. After that, you can shop the Spirit Store and a make a donation.

Fundraising
Spirit Night

LTMS PTO Spirit Night is on Tuesday, September 15th from 5pm to 8pm at the Lakeway Chick-fil-A. Place your order using the Chick-fil-A app, and the LTMS PTO gets 10% of the proceeds.

We appreciate your support in our fundraisers, so watch for more Spirit Nights this year and enjoy dining out at all the local community partners that help support our PTO.

2022-23 School Supplies

The LTMS PTO School Supply Fundraiser is now closed and all extra kits are sold out. Go to Sprout School Supplies website for the lists (Code LTMS001) or follow this link for LTMS grade level copies to print. Please separate student & bulk items to make sorting easier and have your student bring everything to school for teachers to store and have on-hand throughout the year.

If you order supplies from Amazon, please set your Amazon Smiles charity to LTMS PTO!

These grade specific & teacher approved lists are finalized, but not always encompass every supply need. If your child is in any special electives (Band, Orchestra, Art, etc.), those classes may have separate supply needs & those teachers will send those requests home with students.

If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or school office.  You can also send your questions to info@ltmspto.org.
