September 2022

Hello and Happy Fall, Y'all!

Cooler morning temperatures are starting to greet us, welcoming us into Fall. If you’re driving your student athletes to school early in the morning, you know what I mean. Sports are in full swing and our LT teams are achieving amazing results--GO KNIGHTS! Our fine art students have already began hosting concerts and performances; the Halftime Showcase last Wednesday at Cavalier Stadium was amazing!

Your new PTO Board had their first Executive & General Board meetings to start planning all of the activities slated for this school year. In order to fulfill all those events and plan even more, we still need your donations.

We would like to express our sincerest appreciation to those who have joined our PTO. The donations made as part of our “No Hassle Fundraiser”, and the sales from the LTMS Spirit Store are helping us get closer to our PTO goal of raising $8,000. We have a little more to collect its reach our goal, so if you have not yet made a donation as part of the “No Hassle Fundraiser”, or you would like to purchase some of the great-looking apparel from our Spirit Store, it is not too late.

The first Principal's Cookout is this Thursday, and we still need food items donated as well as a few more volunteers. If you missed curriculum night, or haven't had a chance to meet all your child's teachers, this is a great way to do that. This is a fun time visiting with staff and enjoying time together. If you have not registered with Membership Toolkit(MTK) or taken the time to update your Family Information, we encourage you to do so. Members receive our monthly newsletter, have access to volunteer sign-ups, Membership Toolkit (MTK) notifications through the app, and participation in surveys and polls.If you have any questions about PTO membership or with the MTK platform, please reach out to our Membership Coordinator, Erika Franklin.

Please join us for our next General Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 9:00am. We will start with our Principal's Coffee with a campus update from Principal Hudson and then start our General PTO Board meeting thereafter. We hope to see you there!

Lake Travis ISD Mobile App

The Lake Travis ISD Mobile App for both iOS and Android devices is available for download. With the app, you can set your preferences so that you can receive notifications from more than one school, access SMART tag and txConnect parent portal pages, view lunch menus and account balances, and easily access district and campus event calendars.

Search your app store for Lake Travis ISD and look for the LT logo to ensure that you are downloading the correct app.

Are you interested in joining the LTMS PTO? There is something for everyone to enjoy, so let us know what your time and talents are, and we'll get you placed in a role that supports the activities at LTMS.

Principal's Cookout

The Staff Appreciation Committee is back at it and would love your help! The fall Principal’s Cookout for our fabulous LTMS faculty, administrators and staff is this Thursday, October 6th from 11am – 2pm.

Coffee Bar Cart

With the help of generous parents and community members, our PTO was able to create an awesome coffee bar for teacher's lounge.

Birthday Basket Treats

The monthly Birthday Basket Treats have started. Friday, our parents were able to setup a table & fridge full of LTMS favorite snacks and beverages for everyone to enjoy over the coming weeks. We are celebrating birthdays of those in August, September, and October.

In Search Of Volunteers

#1:
Our PTO is looking for parent volunteers that would like to join the Dads In Service Team. We need a team leader or leaders to help coordinate parents volunteering on campus.

In particular, we need parents to assist in the Cafe during the three lunch periods from 11:15am until 1:45pm.

We would also like to assemble a car line assistance team for both mornings and afternoons.

Our PTO is looking for parent volunteers that would like to assist with painting the cork boards in grade level house neighborhoods. This is where student work and announcements are displayed. We already have a teacher leading this initiative, we just need parent support!

It’s been a busy start of the school year with fundraising events including the No Hassle Fundraiser, School Supplies, and Spirit Store sales. This year, our No Hassle Fundraiser goal is $8,000.

You can help us achieve this goal, by registering on Membership Toolkit (MTK), logging in and selecting My Account to update your Family Information. After that, you can shop the Spirit Store and a make a donation.
