May/June 2023

Have a great summer!!

If you are returning in the fall, be sure to get those school supply kits ordered NOW! See article below in this newsletter for details. The school supply sales are a direct fundraiser for our PTO. If EVERY parent orders a kit (order purchases entire list) for their student, making sure everything gets to school, there will be enough supplies to cover the year and you won't get those pesky "out of pencils, glue, etc." from teachers come Spring! AND you won't have to worry about doing this in the fall--enjoy those last minute vacations with ease!

May zoomed by all of us and we had wonderful end of year celebrations with each grade. As well as bringing back our LTMS Day of Service community outreach! Please see our LTMS PTO Facebook page for those photos and shout-outs covering all those events. Thank you to all the PTO Grade Reps, parent volunteers, and LTMS staff for ending the school year with happy memories. Congrats to the 8th grade class and we wish you all the best next year at Lake Travis High School!

As we wrap up our PTO year, I want to say thank you to all the 2022-23 PTO Board members that have served this year and will not be returning next. You have made a difference and huge impact to this team and in supporting the students, parents, and faculty at LTMS! We'll miss you all!

Also, I'd like to say thank you to our 2022-23 Community Partners for their school year sponsorship. Without their contributions, we would not have been able to support so many events and requests. We hope you'll sponsor LTMS PTO next year and for years to come! We truly appreciate your support and being a part of this community! Please support by frequenting these local establishments with your business. (See list at bottom of this newsletter!) AND don't forget to tell them, "THANKS FOR BEING AN LTMS PTO SPONSOR!"

It has been a pleasure and honor serving as your LTMS PTO President the last 3 years. Our board volunteers were faced with many challenges during COVID, Hybrid Learning, and beyond. I am so grateful for the parents that were a part of this with their dedication & support to help make those years the best they could be. I am beyond proud of the work we all accomplished and the continuing of "leaving things better than we found them" attitude. I am also grateful for the environment that exists at LTMS with staff & teachers. With each new year, our PTO and parent volunteers are valued & welcomed. I will miss everyone and thankful for the time spent with both my kids at LTMS.

Be kind, be patient, and treat others with the respect you expect--you'll never fail living like that. Thank you!!

Now Open: New Student Enrollment for 2023-24

Attention parents and guardians of students in grades K-12 that will be NEW to Lake Travis ISD for the 2023-24 school year.

You can now enroll your student by visiting https://www.ltisdschools.org/enrollment. From the New Student Enrollment page, click the blue Enroll for Upcoming School Year (2023-24) button to begin.

The LTMS PTO Newsletter will only be sent to you if you elect to receive notifications from DISTRICT OR SCHOOL-SPONSORSHIP PURPOSES/Release for District Only.

If your student will be returning to LTMS for the 2023-24 school year, be sure to place a check in the Release for District Only box when completing the Returning Student Form in Skyward.

Sprouts School Supplies

New and returning parents to LTMS: It's that time of the year again! School supply kits for the 2023-2024 school year are on sale NOW. Our PTO sells the supplies as a fundraiser, so by ordering through us, you are directly supporting the PTO's efforts to fund events for LTMS teachers and students. Get this "to do" item crossed off your list before summer break.

Superintendent's Weekly Update

Since early September 2022, LTISD Superintendent Paul Norton has been sharing a weekly update with news, notes, and shout outs from across the District. Call to Action Items

Our PTO is looking for parent volunteers to join the Parents In Service Team

We need a team leader (or leaders) to help coordinate the parents volunteer efforts on our campus. In particular, we need volunteer in the following areas:

Assist in the Cafe during the three lunch periods from 11:15am until 1:45pm
Morning and afternoon car line assistance team
Core team to help establish the Knights Lounge, led by our campus counselors.
